TOWN CLERK By-law 5.420-12 Page 3 of 3 Explanatory Note Re: Zoning By-law Number 5420-12 By-law Number 5420-12 has the following purpose and effect: To amend By-law Number 2213-78, as amended, being the Zoning By-law in effect in the Town of Aurora, to rezone the subject lands from "Special Mixed Density Residential (R5) Zone" and "Environmental Protection (EP) Zone" to 'Institutional (I- 25) Exception Zone" and "Environmental Protection (EP-5) Exception Zone". The rezoning will permit the use of the existing structures consisting of the historically designated Hillary House and accessory frame barn for the purposes of a museum; auditoria or meeting hall; government building or banquet hall; as well as to allow the establishment of a parking lot within the Environmental Protection Zone. The site specific Institutional Zone recognizes existing development standard deficiencies and permits a minimum of 8 parking spaces on a gravel surface parking lot with concrete curbing. Other development standards include the reduction of minimum manoeuvring requirement for 90 degree parking spaces and ingress and egress of the driveway, and the elimination of the buffer requirement.
