MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING HELD IN THE BOARD ROOM AT THE
YORK REGION BOARD OF EDUCATION, WEDNESDAY, MARCH 27, 1985 AT 7:30 P.M.
Present Were: Mayor I 11 ingworth and Counci 11 ors Barker, Buck, Jones, Ostick,
Paivio, N. Stewart and West.
Councillor Earl Stewart had another commitment.
Also in attendance were Clerk-Administrator K.B. Rodger, Deputy Clerk C.E. Gowan,
Regional Planner S. Seibert and Chief Building Official R.J. Harrington.
Mayor Illingworth advised those present that this meeting had been called as a
Public Meeting with respect to the introduction of a By-Law amending the Zoning
By-law for Remax-Yonge Street South.
Application Z-06-85 (Remax -Yonge Street South)
Mayor Illingworth advised that the application before this meeting had been
referred back from the meeting of February 27, 1985 to the owners with a suggestion
that modifications to his aonlication in the size of the extension and the extent
of the black topping and further that the residents who were in attendance at that
meeting be notified of the date when Council's future discussions on this
application will take place.
The residents who had signed the list available at the meeting of February 27, 1985
were advised by mail of this meeting.
Mr. Peddle, Solicitor for the applicants outlined changes made to the proposal. He
advised the building had been downgraded by approximately 25%. Mr. Peddle advised
that a Landscape Architect had been consulted regarding landscaping of the area.
The buffer zone has been increased and two parking spaces eliminated.
Concerns:
-heritage element protection,
-size of addition still a concern,
-that building stay as now shown.

Resolved that the Planner be directed to prepare a site specific
by-law for this proposal --"professional offices" with the
exception of medical offices.
