MINUTES - Special Council - 19830831'---~· MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING HELD IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS, WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 31st, 1983 at 7:30P.M. Present Were: Mayor Richard Illingworth and Councillors Richard Barker, Tim Jones, Len Ostick, Martin Paivio, Earl Stewart, and John West. Councillor Norm Stewart on vacation. INFORMATION FOR COUNCIL 1. Vandorf Sideroad Mayor Illingworth informed Council members that the Vandorf Sideroad is now open. 2. Wellington Enterprises -Sod Turning Ceremony Mayor Illingworth advised Council members that Wellington Enterprises will be having a sod turning ceremony next week. 3. New Reporter -Aurora Banner Mayor Illingworth introduced Doug Devine to the members of Council. He is a new reporter for the Aurora Banner. West: E. Stewart: CORRESPONDENCE Resolved that Letter # 16-94 be added to the Agenda under Correspondence. CARRIED 1. Letter # 16-87 -Strathy, Archibald and Seagram, Barristers and Solicitors re: Exchange of Lands (TABLED, BY-LAWS, RESOLUTIONS) 2. Letter# 16-93 -Strathy, Archibald and Seagram, Barristers and Solicitors re: Exchange of Lands (TABLED, RESOLUTIONS -August 31, 1983) 3. Letter# 16-94 -Wm.G. Walker memo to Colleen Gowan re: Formal Request West: E. Stewart: RESOLUTION for a Road Closure (Ministry of the Environment) -St. John's Sideroad -September 1st, 19B3 (Ref. Council in Committee -August 31, 1983) Resolved that permission be granted to the Ministry of the Environment to close St. John's Sideroad on September 1, 1983 from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. CARRIED 1. Mayor and Clerk Authorization to Sign (Exchange of Lands) E. Stewart: Resolved that the Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized to sign all West: necessary papers pertaining to the exchange of lands between Tripsed Investments Limited, William E. Coutts Company Limited, Tetra Pak Incorporated and the Town of Aurora.
