MINUTES - Special Council - 19820301MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING HELD IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS, MONDAY, MARCH 1st, 1982 AT 10:23 P.M. Present Were: Mayor Timpson and Councillors Jones, Ochalski, Ostick, Pedersen, Stewart, Stoddart and West. Jones: Resolved that the 72 Hour Notice of Meeting be waived. Ostick: CARRIED CONFLICT OF INTEREST Mayor Timpson declared a conflict of interest in the item to be discussed, and did not take part in the consideration of or vote on any question in this regard or attempt in any way to influence the voting on such question. Councillor West declared a conflict of interest in the item to be discussed, and did not take part in the consideration of or vote on any question in this regard or attempt in any way to influence the voting on such question. Councillor Earl Stewart in the Chair. RESOLUTION 1. Proposed All Weather Track Pedersen: Whereas the Town of Aurora has been approached by the York Regional Jones: Board of Education on a proposed all weather track and other facilities and the Dr. G.W. Williams Secondary School is a site on which has been proposed to locate same, ADJOURNMENT Jones: And Whereas the school grounds are under a joint use-shared agreement between the York Region Board of Education and the Town of Aurora, Therefore Be It Resolved that the Town indicate its interest in co-operating with the Board of Education in locating such facility at the Dr. G.W. Williams Secondary School location, And Further, that the Council indicate to the School Board that the Town is willing to support such capital installation in an amount up to $40,000.00, And Further, that such funds be financed from the T011n of Aurora Recreation Development Reserve Fund.
