MINUTES - Special Council - 19810624('1 ! MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING HELD IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS, WEDNESDAY, JUNE 24th, 1981 at 8:25P.M. Present Were: Mayor George D. Timpson, Councillors Buck, Jones, Ochalski, Ostick, Stewart, Stoddart and West. Councillor Pedersen was absent due to illness. 1. Appointment of Leisure Services Director West: Resolved that Mr. Fred Horvath be employed as Director of Leisure Jones: Services for the Town of Aurora effective July 15th, 1981 at Grade 13 salary rate subject to the usual six (6) month probationary period. CARRIED 2. Tender Award -Industrial Parkway Jones: Resolved that the Tender of Roadmaster Road Construction and Sealing Ostick: Ltd. in the total amount of $1,815.00, for routing and placing of hot rubberized asphalt, be accepted, subject to the approval of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications. CARRIED 3. Tender Award -Hot Mix Asphalt Stewart: West: Resolved that the Tender of Rono Construction Limited for the Industrial Parkway North extension, in the amount of $212,969.68, be accepted, subject to the approval of the South Lake Simcoe Conservation Authority. CARRIED 4. Valhalla Park Development West: Jones: Be It Resolved that the Council of the Town of Aurora make application for a grant under The Community Centers Act for Valhalla Park development. CARRIED 5. Offer to Purchase -Industrial Land Stewart: West: Resolved that the Offer to Purchase of 399839 Ontario Limited for 1.87 acres of Industrial land at a cost of $50,000.00 per acre<, with closing date of September 1, 1981 be accepted. CARRIED 6. Resuscitator Calls Ostick: Resolved that the Aurora Firefighters be paid for Resuscitator Calls. West: CARRIED 7. Church Street School -Air Conditioners West: Resolved that authority be granted to accept offers for the used air Jones: conditioners in Church Street School, and that they be sold. 8. Ostick: West: CARRIED Pavement Structure -Catherine Avenue and Centre Street Resolved that the pavement on Catherine Avenue and Centre Street, after completion of underground services, be restored with a pavement structure with a life expectancy of at least ten (10) years provided the cost of same does not exceed the Town of Aurora's subsidy dollar allotment for same.
