DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST
Mayor Jones declared an interest in the aspects of Planning and Development Report No.
01-96 regarding Timberlane Tennis and Country Club, due to membership with same and
did not take part in or vote on any questions in this regard or attempt in any way to
influence the voting on .such questions.
Councillor Sorley declared an interest in Report No. PL96-091-245 and By-law 3766-
96.D by virtue of a solicitor-client relationship and did not take part in or vote on any
questions in this regard or attempt in any way to influence the voting on such questions.
Councillor Healy declared an interest in the In Camera item due to employment with the
York Region Board of Education and did not attend this portion of the meeting.

Traffic Concerns on Stone Road

THAT the request for a three-way stop sign at the northerly corner of Stone
Road and October Lane be denied;
THAT a copy of the Public Works Department Stop Sign Policy be provided
to the resident; and
THAT the York Regional Police be requested to monitor the vehicular speed
on Stone Road. ·

Councillor Morris gave notice regarding the introduction of a motion respecting the
development of Code of Ethics for Councillors.
QUESTIONS BY MEMBERS
Councillor Healy Enquired as to whether Staff could look into a chemical
free lawns program and a pesticide hotline which is
occurring in the City of Vaughan.
Enquired about the recent placement of barriers for the
entrances to the Canadian Tire project along Murray
Drive.
Councillor. Morris Asked the Director of Public Works about lack of
reference to budgetary approvals in the Kennedy Street
West sidewalk questionnaire recently circulated to
residents.
Enquired about municipal by-laws wbich would impose
fines for placing graffiti.
Enquired about coordinating activities of teen groups
through the Leisure Services Advisory Committee.
Councillor Wallace Asked the Director of Planning about the status of the
proposed development at Yonge and Tyler Streets.

Rick Marvell. Zellers re: Off Site Signage

THAT Council approve the request of Zellers for two off site signs to ·
advertise their store opening during the same time frame and conditions as
development related off site signage; and
THAT Staff be directed to prepare an amendment to the Sign By-law to
accommodate future applications of this nature in concert with discussions
with the Chamber of Commerce.
